RIO WOLTA - about

Rio Wolta is a Swiss contemporary composer and musician, as well as a director for various music projects. He is known for mixing art forms and pushing their boundaries. As a multi-instrumentalist and singer, he composes for film, theater, and dance. He stages live music formats for theaters, composes for unusual venues, and exhibits sound installations. He has been collaborating with the director Piet Baumgartner, with the musician Daniel Hobi, or the choreographer Tatiana Baganova. Rio Wolta’s debut album Swing For The Nation was released in 2015 and was considered one of the best guitar albums of the year (Peter Walt, SRF). His latest, Technophobia, came out in 2025 and was co-produced by Domi Chansorn. In 2022, Rio Wolta co-founded the music publishing company No Signal Music. In 2024, he released the book 92 Questions for an Artist with the publishing house Distanz. Rio Wolta was born in 1988, survived his teens in the Swiss Alps, and works in Zurich.
